# Clarifying, structuring and coordinating your civil and wealth affairs.

At Maison Française, I support families and expatriates through complex situations with an impact on their assets. I draw on my notarial and cross-disciplinary experience to understand, analyse and structure what is at stake for your estate.

**My conviction** is that decisions follow once situations become clear.

**My responsibility** is to put in place a process and the tools to redefine a path with you in an unstable context.

Case studies

## Two situations, told.

### Assets without governance

A French woman in her eighties, who owned property abroad and whose late husband's estate had remained unsettled for many years, came to see me, weary and at a loss. She no longer knew how to move forward: complex assets, children living far away, and a whole life in which her husband had made the decisions for her.

I asked her to tell me her story. That is when everything became clear: she had never taken her place. Now she had to.

We mapped her assets and her family, legal and tax issues. Step by step, we defined and built an action plan aligned with her priorities and her values.

Once clarity had been established, decisions emerged with disarming ease.

The keyUnderstanding her place to regain control of her estate.

### Six heirs and a plot of land to divide

There were six of them. Six children to whom their mother had left a large plot of land to divide. But at the very first meeting, the eldest daughter took the best plot for herself, without discussion or consultation. The others kept quiet: fear of conflict, lack of confidence, old loyalties, fixed family roles.

The land, instead of being an inheritance, became a field of silent tension.

In these situations, everything plays out in the background: family beliefs, old wounds, inherited attitudes, the rule of silence or of the eldest.

Clarifying, listening, untangling relationships, giving everyone back their place: this is what turns an impossible division into a peaceful decision.

The keyInheritance, when family spirit makes sense.

## What I do, and what I do not do.

I do not give legal advice: I clarify, structure and coordinate, so that you arrive at the legal professionals' offices with the right questions, at the right time.

### What I do with you

- Explaining a mechanism, a vocabulary or a process in general terms
- Taking a factual inventory of your file (documents, assets, deadlines)
- Preparing your appointments with the lawyer or notary, setting your priorities
- Coordinating everyone involved in your file (lawyer, notary, chartered accountant, independent wealth adviser)
- Supporting you with method and care through a demanding stage of life

### What I do not do

- Giving a legal opinion on your specific situation
- Giving a legal characterisation of a situation or settling a dispute
- Drafting or reviewing a deed, a contract or an agreement
- Representing your interests before a court
- Replacing your lawyer or notary

For any legal document, personalised opinion or representation, you will be referred to a lawyer or notary of your choice.
